Varun Dhawan is a Hindi film actor. He is the son of director David Dhawan. Varun has studied Business Management from Nottingham Trent University. He has also worked as an assistant director on Karan Johar’s 2010 movie- My Name is Khan. Varun made his Bollywood debut with Karan Johar’s romantic drama – Student of The Year co-starring Alia Bhatt and Sidharth Malhotra. He received Filmfare nomination for Best Male Debut for his performance. Varun later acted in successful movies including

Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania (2014) and the dance film ABCD 2. His role in Badlapur (2015) was critically acclaimed and he also received Filmfare Nomination for Best Actor award. Besides acting, Varun hosts and performs at award functions.

The 'Badlapur' star took to his Twitter handle to make the official announcement where he shared his first look for 'Judwaa 2' on the micro blogging site. This will be the second time Varun will be teaming up with his father after the 2014 release 'Main Tera Hero'. 'Judwaa 2' will see Varun in a double role for the very first time in his career. Any official announcement on the actress opposite Varun has not been made yet. 'Judwaa', directed by David Dhawan, was a blockbuster hit at the box-office with Bollywood superstar Salman Khan playing a double role.
