Arbaaz Khan calls ex-girlfriend Giorgia Andriani’s interviews on breakup right before his marriage ‘unnecessary, inappropriate’: ‘It is unfortunate I have to clarify’
During an exclusive chat with indianexpress.com, Arbaaz Khan shared how he felt it was not right on Giorgia Andriani's part to discuss their relationship in public, that too two years after they parted ways.

Actor-producer Arbaaz Khan is a happily married man. He doesn’t miss a video call from his newly-wedded wife, Shura Khan, even if that means just a sweet little hello and a quick chat about their day before returning to a meeting. Arbaaz married Shura on December 24 in an intimate ceremony at his sister Arpita Khan Sharma’s house. Around the same time, Arbaaz’s former girlfriend Giorgia Andriani opened up about her break up with him, which the Dabangg actor found “unnecessary and inappropriate”.
During an interview with indianexpress.com, Arbaaz addressed the ‘timing’ of Giorgia’s inter views where she spoke about their relationship and breakup. “I was done with my previous relationship almost two years before I even met her (Shura),” he clarified while insisting that the timeline of his relationship be mentioned categorically.
In December 2023, a few days before Arbaaz Khan’s wedding to Shura Khan, Giorgia Andriani opened up about her breakup with him after dating for four years. She told Hindustan Times, “It took us a long time to make this decision, but we eventually decided to part ways mutually. We had a distinct point of view about our future plans and lives in general.” Giorgia also mentioned that she continues to be “very good friends” with the actor-producer and is “still very fond of him”.
Arbaaz, in a measured voice, said, “I know some of the recent interviews somehow give the feeling that things were right till the end, which is not true. It is unfortunate that I have to sit here and make such clarification but my previous relationship was over almost one and half years before I even met Shura. I had a year of dating period with her. There was no timeline given in those interviews and such interviews make people believe that ‘Oh I moved from this into that’. But that’s not true. I was not dating anyone for almost a year and a half till I met Shura. That is the reality.”
For the actor-turned-producer-turned-talk show host, it was not right on Giorgia’s part to discuss their relationship in public, that too two years after they parted ways. “The timing of somebody speaking about a breakup just around the time I was getting married and post my marriage, seems a little inappropriate. If you have broken up almost two years back and you didn’t have the option to speak about it then, then to speak about it now, doesn’t seem right.”
Arbaaz Khan feels Giorgia Andriani shouldn’t have even discussed their relationship, as for him, “talking about your personal relationship in public is a no”. Instead, he believes she should have just let bygones be bygones and on being asked about it, should have said, “The world knew I was dating this person, now he has moved on, I have moved on, probably he is seeing someone else at this point and it is not appropriate for me to talk.” The Hello Brother actor added that it was “not necessary” for Girogia to talk about their past relationship, especially when he was going to get married.
“I don’t know what may have compelled somebody to do that, but now all is well and one wishes people who were in the past well as well. I know they have moved on and they had moved on a long back, it’s just that the timing of the interviews without giving a timeline as to when they were separated was not… I was waiting for an opportunity to speak about it. When you talk about certain things you have to be mindful and careful because you are talking about somebody else,” concluded Arbaaz.
Arbaaz Khan, who was recently in New Delhi to promote his endorsement with AVPL, a drone company, was previously married to Malaika Arora and the couple parted ways in 2017. They are now co-parenting their son, Arhaan Khan.
