After creating buzz with multiple posters, the makers of Oh My God 2 have released a new video showcasing lead actor Akshay Kumar’s detailed look. The film’s teaser will release on July 11. OMG 2 is the sequel to the 2012 hit film Oh My God, which starred Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal.
In the recently released video, Akshay Kumar is seen challenging his inner Shiva as he dons a black outfit and sports a top hair bun. His look is completed with curly long hair and kohled eyes with ash smeared on his forehead. The video captures Akshay walking through a cheering crowd. The background music, “Har Har Mahadev,” sets the tone for the film. The actor took to social media to share the video, and wrote, “#OMG2Teaser out on July 11. #OMG2 in theatres on August 11.”
Apart from Akshay Kumar, the movie also features actors Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam in prominent roles. The makers had previously released multiple posters, unveiling their looks in the film.
While the original film, Oh My God, explored the theme of faith and religion, Oh My God 2 will shed light on a social challenge. In his earlier tweet, Akshay Kumar revealed that the new film is an “honest attempt to talk about an important social issue.” He wrote, “Need your blessings and wishes for #OMG2, our honest and humble attempt to reflect on an important social issue. May the eternal energy of Adiyogi bless us through this journey.”
OMG 2 is also an important film for Akshay Kumar in terms of box office collection. His previous projects received a lukewarm response from the audience and didn’t perform well at the box office. They include Selfiee, Bachchan Pandey, Ram Setu and Samrat Prithviraj.
OMG 2 is set to hit the theatres on August 11, it will clash with Rajinikanth’s Jailer and Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel starrer Gadar 2.
