Pondicherry’s Jawaharlal Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) is the top medical college in the Union Territory and is ranked in the fifth position in the NIRF 2023 medical college rankings.
Mahatma Gandhi Medical College and Research Institute has been placed in the 47th rank in the NIRF 2023.

JIPMER Pondicherry is one of the very few institutions in the country that provides teaching from undergraduate to super-speciality and sub-specialties. The professional courses in JIPMER Pondicherry include MBBS, MD/MS, MDS, post-doctoral fellowship (PDF) or post-doctoral certificate courses (PDCC). UG, PG, diploma, fellowship and certificate paramedical courses are also offered in JIPMER Pondicherry.
The JIPMER was given national importance by the Government of India in the year 2008.
– For the registration of the counselling, candidates will have to submit their choices and colleges for admission in Pondicherry NEET 2024.
-Candidates should fill the online application and should submit the documents for verification, if they want to apply for Pondicherry colleges.
-There will be a merit list released by Pondicherry MBBS colleges for the eligible candidates
-The Pondicherry MBBS counselling for 85 per cent state quota and 100 per cent private seats that will be conducted on the basis of state merit list.
-Candidates will have to submit their choices of courses and colleges during the counselling.
-Candidates who are shortlisted will have to report to the allotted institution with their documents.
