Maharashtra Board HSC 12th result Highlights: Due to a rise in Covid-19 cases, the HSC Class 12 exams were not conducted in 2021. The exams to be conducted from April 23 till May 29 but the state had cancelled the exams. The results were also prepared on the basis of an alternative means of assessment. Marks were calculated on the basis of a three-year assessment formula, similar to the one adopted by the CBSE.

This year, a total of 1449664 students registered for the exam. However, only 1439731 appeared and 1356604 students passed the exams, making the overall pass percentage to be 94.22%.

Konkan division had the highest number of girls passing the exams this year, with an overall (girls) pass perentage of 97.21%, followed by 96.52% in Nagour, 96.34% of Amravati, 95.25 in Latur, 95.07% in Kohlapur, 95.03% in Nasik, 94.97% in Aurangabad and 93.61 in Pune.
Out of the total 1356604 students who passed the exams, 230769 got a distinction, 558678 students appeared in grade I list and 493442 students in grade II list and 73715 just passed.

While the result has been declared and the overall pass perentage has been revealed, along with the overall stats of different divisions, the topprs list and inidividual scorecards have not yet been revealed by the Maharshtra Board. The link for score cards will go live at 1 pm.
Last year, when board exams were cancelled and students were assessed on the basis of their performance of last three years, the overall pass percentage was recorded to be 99.63%. However, this year's pass percentage is 94.22 per cent.
The state board clarified that even though there were demands and protests to hold exams in an online manner this year, it was not practical to conduct online examinations for such a large student population.

This year, science recorded 98.3 pass percentage, Commerce had 91.71 per cent, Arts recorded 90.51 per cent and HSC Vocational had an overall 92.40 passing percentage.
Considerable drop in pass percentage compared to last year's overall pass percentage of 99.6, which was based on internal assessments+previous board exam scores.

Like last year, this year too, Konkan division has achieved the highest pass percentage. Konkan division had highest percentage at 97.22 per cent while Mumbai recorded lowest with 90.91 per cent. In 2021, Konkan had secured the highest pass percentage with 99.81 per cent, followed by Mumbai at 99.79 per cent and Pune with 99.75 per cent pass percentage.

In 2021, the Maharashtra HSC exams had to be cancelled due to covid. The scores of HSC students were calculated on a 30:30:40 formula, which was the ‘best of three’ subject marks of Class 10, final exam marks of class 11 and remaining based on college-level assessment in class 12, which were either unit tests, first-semester exams, or practice exams. A total of 14.85 lakh students had registered for the exams of which 8.17 lakh were boys while 6.68 lakh were girls. The MSBSHSE board exams for class 12 theory were conducted from March 4 to April 7, 2022, while the practical exams were held from February 14 to March 3, 2022.
