The JEE Main topper focussed more on the JEE preparation in Class 11 and 12, although he had taken a four-year coaching programme from Class 9
JEE Main 2024: Shivansh Nair scored a perfect 100 percentile in the JEE Main 2024 January session exam. The 17-year-old aspires to pursue computer science engineering at IIT Bombay.
Hailing from Haryana’s Gurugram, Nair started preparing for JEE from Class 9 by enrolling in Vidyamandir Classes.
“Although coaching is important to streamline preparation, I think the role of the teachers cannot be ignored. Scoring 100 percentile in the JEE Main 2024 January session exam is due to their effort and trust in me,” Nair said.
From his teenage, he had an interest in engineering and was fascinated by physics, chemistry and maths. His parents motivated him to take up the engineering entrance test. His parents are both working professionals.
“Always focus on giving your best, rather than focusing on getting the best result,” his parents told him.
He dedicated himself more to the JEE preparation in Class 11 and 12. During the early days of preparation, he focused on completing the syllabus and attempting the previous years’ test papers. He said he used to make notes of the things taught in the coaching class and used to revise them at home. Also, he used to attempt questions from the topics taught in class daily.
Now that he is also taking the CBSE Class 12 board exams this year, the 100 percentile holder, says that he never studied for the board exams. When his pre-board exams went well, he did not bother about the boards next and his sole focus was on JEE. He will appear for the JEE Main April session.
