This new system aims to increase transparency and efficiency in the selection process. Delhi Police Recruitment 2025: For the first time in the Indian police history, the Delhi Police has introduced a merit-based examination to appoint Station House Officers (SHOs) in cyber police stations. The examination for the same will be conducted on March 18 at the Delhi Police Academy at Wazirabad. Before introducing the exam, the appointment for the SHO was done through the traditional method that is experience and seniority.
As reported by news agency, ANI, 122 police inspectors have applied for 15 posts available in the cyber police stations in Delhi. This new system aims to increase transparency and efficiency in the selection process.
With the rise in the digital frauds across the country, Delhi Police is aiming to strengthen its system to handle such cases and wants best mind to tackle cases of this nature.
Those selected through this rigorous process will manage high-stakes cybercrime investigations, oversee digital forensics operations, and enforce cybersecurity laws.
The exam will assess candidates on a comprehensive syllabus that includes essential laws and policing acts. Key subjects covered will be the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA), Cybercrime and IT Skills, the NDPS Act, the POCSO Act, the JJ Act, the Arms Act, the Delhi Police Act, the Delhi Excise Act, and the Companies Act. The exam format will consist of a mix of multiple-choice questions and descriptive questions, aimed at evaluating candidates’ legal knowledge, investigative skills, and decision-making abilities.
Meanwhile, the Delhi Police has announced a total of 42,451 vacancies for the Constable position for the year 2025. The application form for the Delhi Police Constable 2025 will soon be available on the official website, delhipolice.gov.in. Candidates can find important information, including the exam dates and the notification date, once notification is released.
It is expected that the notification for the constable post will be released on September 2. The application for the same will likely start on the same date. The last date for the application will be October 1, with the exam between November and December 2025. For the post of constable, candidates should be between 18-25 years of age. They must have completed graduation from a recognised University. Both males and females can apply for the posts.
