BSE Odisha Class 10th board exam commences, over 5.4 lakh students registered

The Board of Secondary Education (BSE) Odisha Class 10 board examination today started in 318 centres. This year, over 5.4 lakh students will appear for the matric exam that will continue till March 20. In January, the board released the Summative Assessment I result.

Odisha BSE President Ramashis Hazra told PTI that the BSE examination started at 8 am. All exams are being held in the first sitting. The students were directed to only carry their admit cards, blue and black pens, pencils and geometry boxes. Items like electronic watches were not allowed inside the examination centre.

The question papers were distributed to the students at 7:45 am in the first sitting.” The minister said all necessary precautions have been taken for the peaceful conduct of the exam. The examination is being started at 8 am keeping in view the rising heat across the state.

Meanwhile, the State Open School Certificate(SOSC) Examination will be held simultaneously with SA-2 and Madhyama.

Last year, as many as 5.17 lakh students cleared the exam. The ass percentage was 90.55 per cent which was lower than 2021’s pass percentage (97.89 per cent). As many as 8,119 students got A1 grade and 54,889 got A2 grade. As many as 76, 139 students passed in C grade (50-60%) while 1,16,262 students passed in D grade (40-50%).

Girls outperformed boys scoring 92.37 per cent while the pass percentage among boys was 88.77 per cent. In 2022, about 1070 schools scored 100 per cent while three schools got 0 results.
