Armed with a well-researched Pinterest board and a folder full of images of cabins and hideaways clipped from magazines, Kendall Jenner just proved that when it comes to designing one’s home, she is no different that the rest of us! The American model and socialite’s second property aside from their family’s Beverly Hills mansion, this cozy, grandma-inspired mountain retreat in Wyoming is everything she wished for growing up a “horse girl”.

Instead of choosing the current minimalist trend, Jenner went for a rural escape, with help from interior designer Heidi Caillier and architect Kirby Lee. Her very first ground-up build, she fulfilled her dream of creating a home filled with sentimental treasures and enough room to host all her beloved friends and family with this project.

Decoding the details

Think patterned wallpapers, vintage textiles and a crackling fireplace setting the tone for slow, stylish weekends. Every detail feels intentional, like a private escape from her high-speed world.

The home leans into grandma core charm, mixing antique details with modern comfort for a warm, lived‑in feel. The space shows how soft colors and classic furniture can still feel modern. From layered rugs to classic art and wooden accents, every corner is curated to feel intimate yet elevated.

“I had a vision. It was a house full of people squeezed onto a couch for game night. On one of my first trips there, it happened. I had friends who were staying nearby who came over kind of spontaneously. It made me damn near emotional. I had this dream, and it happened in a home that I built. It was very fulfilling,” she told Architectural Digest.

From a bench wrapped in fabric and vintage milk glass pendant from Factory 20, to a limited-edition 2001 Gibson-Baldwin Les Paul–signed Cherry Sunburst studio piano sitting next to a Yamaha acoustic guitar in the living room, Jenner’s knick knacks are spread all over the house.

While most celebrities choose to hand over the project to experts, sit back and relax, Jenner’s hands on approach reflects in the nitty gritties in and around the property. “When doing any home, I love making things collaborative, and my choice in designer is extremely intentional. I know that I’m going to be highly involved and extremely picky,” she added.

Jenner drew colour inspiration from fashion brand Bode’s showrooms, which featured hints of slightly washed-out primary red, deep navy, and muted green. “I’m not a bare-bones type of girl. I love color, and I love pattern,” she shared, adding that the project felt less pressure because it was a second home, and brought out the best of her creative side.

Paneled walls and ceiling beams along with strategically placed windows at the entryway and bunk rooms added the right amount of quirk Jenner wanted the retreat to have. It is a reminder that true luxury today is about personality, nostalgia and quiet spaces away from the spotlight.
