IIM Hindi medium course: Ranked No.21 under the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Udaipur, will introduce a new undergraduate course – Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Hindi – from July 1, 2026. Unlike other IIMs like Indore, Rohtak, and Ranchi that offer an integrated course in BBA and MBA, also known as the Integrated Programme Management (IPM), Udaipur’s course is the first to be introduced in the Hindi language. Sharing details with indianexpress.com, Professor Kunal Kumar, who is overseeing the course, said all Class 12 students are eligible for the course. “Students who have passed from an Indian board, irrespective of their stream, are eligible for the three-year course in Hindi. There is no entrance exam. Just the CGPA or Class 12 score matters for admission” he said. Top management colleges in India for MBA The teaching will be bilingual, with professors using both English and Hindi during video lectures and live classes. Additionally, the course material for the online BBA course will be bilingual. No placements, no cap on student intake However, the course does not assure an internship or offer placement opportunities for students. “Unfortunately, the placement is primarily for MBA students in IIMs. Even if you see other IPM courses, they do not promise any placement. As the course is online and students are not attending in person, we won’t be able to provide placements” Kumar said. The three-year online BBA course also has an option for students to pursue their education for a fourth year. If a student continues till the fourth year, he or she will get a BBA Honours degree from IIM Udaipur. There is also no cap on student intake, and candidates will have the flexibility to drop the course midway, as per the National Education Policy 2020, he added. The four-year programme will comprise 40 courses, each offering 60 hours of instruction. Adopting a blended learning approach, the institute will deliver 30 hours of content through faculty-led video lectures, while the remaining 30 hours will be conducted via live online sessions facilitated by both in-house professors and guest experts from other institutions. Fee structure & scholarships In the first year, students will need to pay Rs 50,000, which will increase to Rs 1 lakh in the second year, and Rs 1.5 lakh in the third, adding up to Rs 3 lakh for the three-year online course. Asked about the fee increment with each passing year, Kumar said, “The institute assumes that due to the flexibility of the drop, many students might drop the course midway.” The institute will also offer two scholarships for the programme, one for underprivileged students and the other for high-performing students, the details of which are being finalised by IIM Udaipur. Between 2024 and 2025, IIMs in Sirmaur, Sambalpur, and Kozhikode have introduced full-time, residential four-year undergraduate programmes in disciplines including management, public policy, and emerging technologies. IIM Bangalore also launched a three-year online BBA in Digital Business and Entrepreneurship (BBA–DBE) and is gearing up to offer two new residential four-year honours degrees next year — a BSc (Hons) in Economics and a BSc (Hons) in Data Science.
