Wall collapse: Notices to six PMC engineers

The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has issued showcause notices to six civic engineers over the wall collapse during a heavy downpour near Dandekar bridge that killed three women.

The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has issued showcause notices to six civic engineers over the wall collapse during a heavy downpour near Dandekar bridge that killed three women.

The civic engineers issued showcause include junior engineer Sunil Kadam,deputy engineer Ramesh Waghmare,junior engineer Rajendra Jadhav,deputy engineer Dharamsingh

Rajput,executive engineer Namdeo Gambhire and junior engineer Rajesh Kharat.

Additional city engineer Vivek Kharwadkar said action would be taken against the civic engineers based on their response to the showcause notice.

Meanwhile,city-based developer Vinay Mulay of A V Mulay Construction company has filed an anticipatory bail application.

Police had said Mulay had taken adequate permission from the PMC and constructed the wall as an extension of a weak structure built in the past.

Dattawadi police have already arrested engineer Imran Sawar while the contractor is still on the run.
