Remembering Ambedkar

A marathon study session of 14 hours was conducted at Nowrosjee Wadia College on Saturday to mark the birth anniversary of BR Ambedkar and Jyotiba Phule. More than 100 students participated in the study to pay tribute to Ambedkar,who would often study for 18 hours at a stretch. Organised by Modern Education Society,the event featured a programme with songs and ballads about celebrated social reformers,while Ambedkar’s life and times was covered in speeches. College principal Dr BB Thakur; Dr LG Navale,principal of MESCOE; Dr Anand Dadas,director of Neville Wadia Institute of Management; Prof V R Rao,principal of Cusrow Wadia College; and vice-principal Dr S L Bonde were present on the occasion. An essay competition will be held on April 24 as part of the celebration.
