A little laughter and romance may be just what the doctor ordered,and actor-director Pushkar Jog hopes to deliver with his latest,Huff – It’s Too Much,set to hit theatres on November 8. The film has been written and directed by Jog,who will also star in it,along with Indo-British debutante Armeena Rana Khan. Jog plays the role of a charming creative head of one of London’s finest modelling agencies. He meets a beautiful but confused model (played by Khan),and so follows a love story with mystery and confusion galore. The film also boasts a soundtrack featuring artistes such as Kunaal Ganjawala,Lucky Ali,Mahalaxmi Iyyer and others.

Starting young

A 16-year-old blogger and writer Devaki Purohit has taken that next big step and published a thriller novel,with her own publishing house. Zoriaver’s Prophecy (Suman Media Publications,Rs 160) was launched at an event,by Hrishikesh Soman,the principal of Symbiosis College of Arts and Commerce,Pune. “I started reading books by J K Rowling and have been writing poems,skits,short stories since the age of eight. This is just the beginning,I want to write more,and give chance to other young authors with my publishing house as well,” said Devaki at the launch.

Rich traditions

A traditional form of painting,the Tanjore paintings,which originate from the town of Thanjavur in Tamil Nadu will make their presence felt in Pune. Alka Bhrushundi from Delhi will be conducting a workshop at Darpan Art Gallery. The style of paintings,which is known for its vivid colours and the use of beautiful gems and glittering gold foils,makes the Tanjore paintings very unique. The workshop will be held from November 7-13.

Great expectations

A free workshop will be conducted by art expert Tobias Degsell today,from 4-6 pm at Symbiosis Institute of Management studies,Khadki. Degsell,who is a curator from the Nobel Museum,Sweden,will talk about creativity,innovation and leadership to the students.
