Induction Ceremony at ISMR
The induction ceremony of the MBA/PGPBM Batch (2009-2011) of Sri Vigneswara Education Societys International School of Management and Research (ISMR),was held recently. Chief Guest,Srikant,inaugurated the event. Many speakers,including K Shetty,director, marketing and sales,VHB Life Science Ltd,Maj Gen Partho Sen,director,ISMR-DEC,Preetam Salvi,director,marketing and retail practices,Col Joy Dassgupta,chief advisor,DEC were also present for the inaugural function held at Hotel Le Meridien.
IIT Guwahati organises Technothlon
Indian Institute of Technology,Guwahati is organising the National School Championship,Technothlon,for high school students,as part of its annual techno-management festival Techniche09. Participation in the Technothlon will be decided on the basis of an all-India preliminary exam to be conducted on July 19. The Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan,Senapati Bapat Road will be the centre for Pune. The last date for online registration is July 15. It would be an objective paper,focusing on testing the analytical and aptitude skills of students.Registrations can be done online through http://www.techniche.in/technothlon.htm.
Young initiatives
Avinash Gavai has been selected as member of the Indian Youth Science Congress Association by Prof S M Swami Nathan. The first Indian Youth Science Congress (IYSC) held recently was a grand success and provided a platform for future scientists. Held at the Rajiv Gandhi National Institute for Youth Development,under the joint auspices of the M S Swaminathan Research Foundation,SRM University and RGNIYD,over 500 delegates attended it. The theme for the Congress was Youth and Shaping the Future of Innovations in Science for Societal Needs. The IYSC is the umbrella organisation for organising the Congress at different locations in the country.
