Anti-Corruption Bureau Tuesday trapped and arrested two policemen for allegedly accepting a bribe from an accused in a molestation case. ACB officers identified the accused as sub-inspector Vinayak Golhe and constable Jaypal Kamble of Shahu Nagar police station. There was a complaint of outraging modesty under section 354 of the Indian Penal Code against the complainant and Golhe called him to the police station. Once the complainant met Golhe,he demanded a bribe in exchange for not arresting and taking action against the complainant, said Additional Commissioner of Police Rameshkumar Mor,ACB. Golhe allegedly demanded Rs 25,000 first but as the complainant could not afford to pay the amount,Golhe brought the figure down to Rs 15,000. The complainant allegedly paid Rs 7,000 to Golhe the same day and agreed to pay the remaining amount as soon as possible, after which he approached the ACB. ACB registered a complaint against Golhe. Acting on ACBs instructions, the complainant contacted Golhe and said he would pay the remaining Rs 8,000. On Monday, the complainant visited the police station and gave the money to Kamble, who was allegedly accepting the money on Golhes behalf. As soon as Kamble accepted the money,ACB officials arrested both Golhe and Kamble. On June 19,the ACB had trapped and arrested inspector Manohar Gaware of Vinoba Bhave Nagar police station for allegedly accepting Rs 25,000 from the father of an accused arrested by him,in exchange for not opposing his bail application in court.
