In a world made violent by adults,children are the worst victims, says singer Tara Venkatesan. The 13-year-old granddaughter of former president R Venkataraman is planning a concert with a fun repertoire of songs dedicated to the child victims of the Mumbai attacks. The event,to be held under her banner Music 4 Kids by Kids,will have Venkatesan performing arias and Broadway hits.
I will sing the millennium anthem Just Wave Hello,which is full of optimism and hope, she says,humming the lines Raise your hand and show the world/ And tell everyone the moment has come/ Its time to say hello. A student of the American International School,Venkatesans soprano skills were honed by Situ Singh Beuler,a leading soprano singer. I am looking forward to singing Gioachino Rossinis Cat Duet,which comprises various ways of saying meow, she says.
