The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has invited bids from consultancy firms for the study of Gomti Riverfront Development Project site.
The consultancy firms or a consortium having experience of at least one consultancy work of riverfront or lake front development costing above Rs 100 crore in the past five years could only bid for the project. Moreover,firms must have a minimum annual turnover of Rs 5 crore in the form of consultancy fee during the last three years.
The LDA needs a consultant for the Gomti riverfront development project. Bids have been invited and interested firms could submit their proposals by May 15, said LDA Joint Director (Land and Development) S B Mishra.
Under the project,the 28-km stretch along the Gomti from Hardoi Road to Shaheed Path would be developed into amusement parks,public utilities,informal markets and open air theatre. The project is inspired by the Sabarmati Riverfront Development Project in Ahmadabad. LDA is not going to award work to the firm till elections are completed, said LDA Vice-Chairman Mukesh Kumar Meshram.
65-year-old woman dies in fire
FAIZABAD: A sixty-five-year old woman died while more than half a dozen people were injured in two different incidents of fire on Sunday in Sadar and Sohawal tehsils of Faizabad district.
According to reports,more than two dozen houses mostly belonging to the Dalit community were engulfed in the fire.
Faizabad District Magistrate Anil Garg said that the administration would pay a compensation of Rs 1 lakh the family of Kamla Devi,the elderly woman who died in the fire. Strong winds also played a vital role in spreading the fire. The actual reason behind the fire is yet to be ascertained,but according to the locals the source of the fire could be the firewood used in the open air for cooking by villagers.
SEE 2009: 3 imposters arrested
LUCKNOW: The state police has filed an FIR against three imposters who were appearing for the State Entrance Examination (SEE-2009) conducted by the UP Technical University (UPTU) on Sunday. The three imposters Ved Prakash Singh,Sandeep Kumar Saini and Punit Kumar Mishra have been arrested by the police from different colleges. Singh was arrested from Sentinel Inter College in Lucknow where he was appearing the examinations in place of one Ashwini Kumar. Saini was caught writing the paper in place of one Ankush Yadav at Prasad Institute of Technology,Jaunpur and Mishra was caught writing for one Deepak Yadav from Jhunjhunwalla Engineering College. JP Pandey,UPTU additional examination controller said: These three imposters were caught when they were found with admit cards having photographs of someone else. The UPTU had conducted the SEE-2009 exam for admissions in BTech,BArch and BPharma courses. Over 2.10 lakh candidates had appeared for the exams at 278 centres across the state.
