Kidnapped boy recovered,six arrested

The Lakhimpur Kheri police on Sunday arrested six persons and recovered a seven-year-old boy Rohit,who had been kidnapped from near his house at Baggia village on Friday. The kidnappers had demanded a ransom of Rs 10 lakh from Rohit’s father Muniram Singhal,a businessman,the police said.

The arrested have been identified as Sobhran Nishad,Ram Prasad Nishad,Ram Milan Yadav,Anurag Gupta,Abhishek Kumar and Rakesh Kumar. Anurag and Abhishek are from Kheri while others are residents of Bahraich. All accused were produced before the court today which sent them to judicial custody.

Acting on an information that the kidnappers are going to assemble at the Majra Purab crossing,the police laid a trap and arrested them when they came on motorcycles.
