An FIR has been lodged against BSP candidate Swami Prasad Maurya for offering cash to voters.

An FIR has been lodged against BSP candidate Swami Prasad Maurya for offering cash to voters. Maurya,the state BSP president and minister of the Co-operative department,is in the fray from Kushinagar Lok Sabha seat. The constituency will go to polls on April 16. The FIR has been lodged at Kushinagar district’s Kasya police station under Section 171 of the RP Act. According to the FIR,Maurya had addressed an election meeting at Sakhopar development block in near Padrauna town on April 9,waving currency notes. He had said: “These notes are for you,you vote for me and take the money.”
