Mob sets two fire tenders on fire
A mob of locals went on a rampage torching two fire tenders and a state transport bus in Syed Raza area of Chandauli district on Monday. The locals were angry when dozens of the wheat crop fields caught fire and the fire tenders reached late to the spot. The police had to cane-charge the mob to disperse them when the mob clashed with them. A case of rioting and causing damage to the government vehicles was registered at the Syed Raza police station against the unidentified troublemakers. The Chandauli SP,Ram Pal said that the control room received information about the fire around 11.00 am and the local police rushed to the place in 15 minutes. A fire tender too arrived around 11.20 am ,but the locals created ruckus and did not allow the fire service staff to begin the fire fighting job.
7 die in accident
Seven people died while five others sustained critical injuries after the tempo they were travelling in was hit head on by a bus in Nagal area of Saharanpur district on Monday afternoon. The bus driver is yet to be arrested. The Station Officer of Nagal police station,Digambar Singh said the bus coming from Muzaffarnagar hit the tempo near Baseda village around 1 pm.
