TRINAMOOL Congress MLA and chief whip Shovondev Chattopadhyay played the role of priest to perfection last week at partys head office at Topsia. He conducted a yagna for the well being of the party and sprinkled shantijaal in the cabins of party chief Mamata Banerjee and others. Chattopadhyay,whose family profession was to conduct pujas at households,chanted hymns to ward off all evils that seem to be plaguing the party.

Avoiding stairs

Has Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee started avoiding the media? Earlier,the CM while leaving her office at the Writers used the public staircase,and the whole media stationed there accompanied her and spoke to her amid much din and jostle. But these days she is using the VIP lift. Last week,when reporters saw her going down the lift,they started shouting didi,didi but in vain.
