Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Akhanda 2 postponed; makers issue statement: ‘This is a painful moment for us…’
The makers said Nandamuri Balakrishna’s much-anticipated film Akhanda 2 will not be 'releasing as scheduled due to unavoidable circumstances.'

Nandamuri Balakrishna’s much-anticipated film Akhanda 2, which was all set to hit theatres on December 5, has been postponed. The makers said the Boyapati Srinu directorial will not be “releasing as scheduled due to unavoidable circumstances.”
Production house 14 Reels posted a tweet which read, “With a heavy heart, we regret to inform you that #Akhanda2 will not be releasing as scheduled due to unavoidable circumstances. This is a painful moment for us, and we truly understand the disappointment it brings to every fan and movie lover awaiting the film. We are working tirelessly to resolve the matter at the earliest. Our sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused. Your support means the world to us. We promise to share a positive update very soon.”
Akhanda 2 is a sequel to the 2021 blockbuster Akhanda. The film also stars Samyuktha Menon, Aadhi Pinisetty, Harshaali Malhotra, Kabir Duhan Singh and Saswata Chatterjee in pivotal roles. It is produced by Ram Achanta, Gopi Achanta and Ishan Saksena under the banners 14 Reels Plus and IVY Entertainment.

Special premiere shows were scheduled to take place in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Karanataka on Thursday. The Telugu states had also approved a ticket-price hike specifically for these premieres. However, the makers announced that the premiere shows were cancelled due to technical issues.
Director Boyapati Srinu has previously collaborated with Balakrishna on hits such as Simha (2010) and Legend (2014) and Akhanda (2021). Akhanda was a major box-office hit despite mixed reviews. Made on a budget of Rs 50 crore, the film grossed Rs 117 crore worldwide.
