Defence: The line-up lists three defenders, known more for the drag-flicks than tackling. VR Raghunath and Sandeep Singh have both improved, though the backline still remains the team’s weakness. Nobbs is planning to play veteran Ignace Tirkey behind to shore up the defence .

Midfield: With selectors deciding that veteran Arjun Hallappa isn’t good enough to make the first team, the engine in the midfield will be Sardar Singh. Sardar will have to be at the top of his game as the rest of the players in this area of play don’t have the big-match experience.

forward line: Most of the goals that have been scored lately have been field goals and that is a positive sign for the side. The youngsters have done well but the presence of experienced players like Tushar Khandker and Shivendra Singh gives the forward line attacking options.
