CRPF constable,friend rape minor

A 17-year-old resident of Northeast Delhi’s Khajuri Khas area was allegedly sexually assaulted by a distant relative,a constable with the CRPF,and one of her tenants over a period of four months. Following a complaint from the victim,a city court directed the Delhi police to register the case on Thursday.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Northeast) Sanjay Kumar Jain said,“The incident came to light on February 6 when the victim,a resident of Tukmirpur,approached us with the complaint. We have arrested the tenant,identified as 26-year-old Amit Sharma and the victim’s 36-year-old cousin,Jaikaran.”

According to the police,Jaikiran is posted as a constable with the 103rd battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in Wazirabad. “Amit stayed on rent at the victim’s house and developed a relationship with her. Jaikiran,who happens to be Amit’s friend,later allegedly joined in molesting her,” an officer said.

Police said the two accused had become friends while training for the CRPF,but Amit left the force to start his own business.
