Tangedco has announced day-long power cuts in parts of Chennai as a part of routine maintenance work. (Representational Image)
The Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (Tangedco) has announced that power will be suspended in parts of Chennai Monday for carrying out day-long maintenance work in the city.
The city will face a power shutdown from 9 am to 4 pm, with supply expected to resume before 4 pm if the work is completed.
As per a press release given by the company, the following neighbourhoods in Chennai will be affected:
Rajakilapakkam: Velachery main road, 100 feet road, Rajeshwari Nagar and extension, Dhanalakshmi Nagar, Sriram Nagar, Santhana Lakshmi Street and Ganapathy Colony.
Sothuperumbedu: Sothuperumbedu, Karanodai, Solavaram, Sirunium, Kotamedu, Kamarpalayam, Vijayanallur and Sembulivaram.
Velachery West and Central: Parts of 100 feet bypass road, Venkateswara Nagar, Lakshmi Nagar, Vaduvambal Nagar, MGR Nagar and Orandiamman Kovil Street.
Madhavaram: GNT Road, Brindhavanam Garden, Prakash Nagar, Ponniaman Medu, Periya Salai, Thanigasalam Nagar, E Block, F Block, Netaji Salai and Ganapathy Thottam.
Avadi: Police Battalion II, HVF Road, TSP Camp II, CTH Road, B V Puram, OCF Road, Avadi Bus Stand and Nagammai Nagar.
Tondiarpet: KH Road, Thiyagappa Chetty Street, Mennambal Nagar, Bharathi Nagar, New Sastri Nagar, Motchapuram, JJ Nagar, Sudhanthirapuram and Kamaraj Nagar.
