City residents could be celebrating this Holi in cloudy weather accompanied by rain showers,as the Meteorological Department has predicted 50 per cent possibility of rain on the day of the festival. “Tomorrow will be a cloudy day,but there are chances of rain showers on the next day. There are 50 per cent chances of spell of rain during Holi,” said an official from Met department. “Western disturbances have caused the spell of rain or thunder showers. It is quite normal to have such WD at this time. Next WD is expected on March 27.”

Till 8.30 am on Sunday,Chandigarh had recorded 11.9mm of rain,and from 8.30 am to 5.30 pm,the amount of rainfall noted was 0.7mm.
