Under the influence of western disturbances currently passing through extreme north parts of the country, minimum temperatures are expected to drop by 2 degrees to 3 degrees Celsius across Maharashtra over the weekend.

The NERC said Monday a depression formed over southeast Bay of Bengal was likely to move northwestwards towards Odisha coast over the next 72 hours. The depression is likely to intensify by Tuesday and turn into a cyclonic storm.
