PGIMER snaps ties with Sector-11 chemist store

In order to avoid any transaction with chemist Kumar Brothers,PGI has decide to purchase medicines and surgical items for poor patients from the Jan Aushadhi store and other shops.

In order to avoid any transaction with chemist Kumar Brothers,PGI has decide to purchase medicines and surgical items for poor patients from the Jan Aushadhi store and other shops. The Sector-11 based chemist store,allegedly involved in the sale of fake medical items,has a three-year contract with PGIMER for the poor patient cell of which six months are still remaining. Though the contract has not been terminated legally,instructions had already been issued to dispensaries at the hospital to coordinate the sale and purchase of medical items with the poor patient cell. PGI spokesperson Manju Wadwalkar said,“Patients coming for treatment through the poor patient cell have been asked to buy medicines and other surgical items from Jan Aushadhi. In case these are not available there,they should buy it from some other chemist but not Kumar Brothers. No legal termination notice has been issued to Kumar Brothers. As the contract has been earned through a legal procedure,it can only be terminated in a legal manner.” ens
