No entry into RLA office without documents

The RLA issued these orders to check over-crowding at the office and prevent entry of brokers.

Now,residents of Chandigarh will not be allowed entry into the Registration and Licensing Authority (RLA) office in Sector 17 without relevant documents or a receipt.

The RLA issued these orders to check over-crowding at the office and prevent entry of brokers, who charge customers for a driving license or a registration certificate that needs to be made. “It was observed that applicants were bringing their family and friends with them to the office. This was leading to a crowded office and giving the impression of long queues. Brokers were also taking advantage of the free entry in the office and exploiting innocent applicants,” said an official.

According to the authorizing department,a staff member and a home guard will be stationed at the entrance gate to check that only customers carrying relevant documents are allowed inside the office, which is sees nearly 5,000 people every day.
