With the voting day round the corner,students of ITFT College,in order to drill in the message and create more awareness,staged a nukkad natak,“Awaaz Suno”,at the Student Centre,PU,amplifying the message of youth coming forward in politics,appealing the public for 100 per cent voting on May 13 Chandigarh elections. The play went to talk about how not to support any candidate with a criminal background,on putting country before cast,creed and religion. Directed by Chakresh,the play evoked emotions among viewers by enthralling performance of actors Varun,Nitin,Harsh,Anurag and Abhishek,all students of third-year bachelor’s degree in media-entertainment and film technology. Says Indu Sharma,principal of ITFT,“These series of play staged by the media and entertainment students of the college (CMES) is a part of the corporate social responsibility activity to awaken the society of the issues which are paralyzing the society. We should all come forward and work towards a corruption-free nation.”

In the meantime,don’t miss out on the first ever Yuva Parliament scheduled for May 9,from 3pm to 6pm at the Art Gallery Auditorium,Sector 10,Chandigarh. The session with include Q & A and discussion of Chandigarh’s youth with city’s key electoral candidates. FYI: Yuva Parliament provides a platform for city’s electoral candidates to speak directly to the youth. It aims to reverse youth political apathy by making them more participative in the electoral debate and helping them make informed voting decisions.The participating candidates include Pawan Kumar Bansal (Congress),Satya Pal Jain (BJP),Harmohan Dhawan (BSP) and Ajay Goyal (Independent). The event is open to all. Be there.
