Freight rates up on tight position of trucks

Transporters said less availability of trucks into the markets,sparked by busy cargo movements.

Freight rates for 10 tonne pay load section improved by Rs 1,000 in the local truck transport market today following increased movements of cargo along with tight position of trucks.

Transporters said less availability of trucks into the markets,sparked by busy cargo movements,mainly pushed up freight rates.

New Delhi to Vijaywada,Goa,and Hyderabad rates moved up by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 46,000,Rs 42,000 and Rs 44,000,respectively.

Rates to Chennai,Guwahati,and Bangalore rose by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 57,000,Rs 44,000 and Rs 59,000,respectively.

The following are today’s freights per 10-tonne load:

Ahmedabad 17,000 Hyderabad 44,000

Mumbai 22,000 Vijayawada 46,000

Baroda 19,000 Chennai 57,000

Pune 24,000 Bangalore 59,000

Surat 21,000 Mysore 62,000

Kanpur 16,000 Pondicherry 58,000

Kolkata 27,000 Coimbatore 64,000

Ludhiana 15,000 Kochi 66,000

Chandigarh 13,000 Thiruvananthapuram 69,000

Jaipur 12,000 Goa 42,000

Indore 16,000 Gwalior 11,000

Patna 23,000 Guwahati 44,000.
