Shruti Haasan: A Versatile Career in Indian Cinema Shruti Haasan, born January 28, 1986, is a prominent Indian actress and singer working predominantly in Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi films. Daughter of acclaimed actors Kamal Haasan and Sarika Thakur, she began her career with a brief stint as a child artist before making her adult acting debut in the Hindi film Luck (2009). Haasan quickly established herself in South Indian cinema, achieving recognition with her dual debut in Anaganaga O Dheerudu (Telugu) and 7aum Arivu (Tamil) in 2011, winning the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut - South for both. Notable Telugu films that solidified her position include Oh My Friend, Gabbar Singh, Balupu, Yevadu, Race Gurram, Srimanthudu, Premam, Krack, and Waltair Veerayya. Her performance in Race Gurram earned her the Filmfare Award for Best Actress - Telugu. She also starred in several successful Tamil films like Vedalam and Si3, and Hindi films Gabbar Is Back and Welcome Back. Her role in D-Day (2013) garnered an IIFA Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. Haasan's highest-grossing film to date is Salaar: Part 1 - Ceasefire (2023).
