Farhan Akhtar: A Multifaceted Talent in Bollywood Farhan Akhtar, born January 9, 1974, is a prominent figure in Hindi cinema, excelling as an actor, director, producer, and singer. Son of renowned screenwriters Javed Akhtar and Honey Irani, he co-founded Excel Entertainment with Ritesh Sidhwani in 1999. Akhtar's directorial debut, Dil Chahta Hai (2001), garnered critical acclaim for its realistic portrayal of contemporary Indian youth, winning the National Award for Best Hindi Film and Filmfare Awards. His subsequent directorial ventures included Lakshya (2004), and the Don franchise (2006, 2011). His acting debut in Rock On!! (2008) earned him a second National Film Award (as producer) and the Filmfare Best Male Debut award. His role in Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (2011), which he also wrote and produced, brought him Filmfare Awards for Best Film, Best Supporting Actor, and Best Dialogue.
