New Delhi, Feb 22 (ANI): Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) on Monday condemned speech of Jawaharlal Nehru University student Umar Khalid, accused of raising anti-national slogans, saying the students shouting 'Save JNU' slogans are the same people supporting Khalid's speech on Sunday night. An ABVP activist said the speech has again deteriorated the image of JNU, adding that some professors are continuously supporting such students. Another activist demanded that students and teachers indulged in 'anti-national' activities should be first punished by the university and then by the judiciary.

Members of ABVP from Ahmedabad raised slogans against those who supported the anti-national elements in JNU. An ABVP leader said they will continue their protests till the anti-nationalists are punished. In Bengaluru, the student took out a 'Tricolor march'. A protestor of ABVP in Bengaluru said they condemn the act of central universities rising to support the anti-national slogans raised in JNU. In Kolkata, ABVP members were seen raising slogans against the anti-national elements.

New Delhi, Feb 18 (ANI): Three office-bearers of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) unit on Wednesday resigned in solidarity with the ongoing students' protests against Centre's 'manhandling' the row at the university. Saurabh Sharma, joint secretary of ABVP and JNUSU, said they haven't received any resignation letter till now. He added that they scarified their career because of the pressure created by others.

New Delhi, Feb 10 (ANI): The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) members staged a protest outside the office of Jawaharlal Nehru University ( JNU) Vice Chancellor on Wednesday to vent their ire over a programme describing the execution of 2001 Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru as 'judicial killing'. The varsity witnessed violent clashes between two students groups last night over this programme, following which the police personnel were deployed to maintain the law and order situation on the campus. The incident was followed by the cultural evening organised at the Sabarmati Dhaba by ten students, who were earlier members of the Democratic Students' Union (DSU). The ABVP has also demanded that the ten students behind the event must be rusticated with immediate effect. One of the protestors said they are protesting against the "anti-national" activity on the campus and strict actions should be taken.

New Delhi, Feb 10 (ANI): Commenting on the ABVP protest outside the Jawaharlal Nehru University for calling Afzal Guru's execution as 'judicial killing', JNU Vice-Chancellor Jagdeesh Kumar on Wednesday said a proctorial committee of the university will look in to the matter. Kumar added that there are three-four proctors, followed by a chief proctor, who will look into the matter. He said no time frame can be allotted as they have to perform their regular duties also. Meanwhile, another professor Krishna Kumar said that certain evidences are available with the authority, but the action depend on how much the students cooperate.

The two-day seminar titled "Shri Ram Janma Bhoomi Temple: Emerging Scenario" is scheduled to begin on January 9 at the Delhi University's Arts Faculty.
