Who is Ganga Prasad?
Bihar MLC Ganga Prasad was appointed Governor of Meghalaya on Saturday by President Ram Nath Kovind.

Ganga Prasad was appointed as the Governor of Meghalaya on Saturday by President Ram Nath Kovind. His appointment coincides with that of four other Governors and one Lt Governor.
Prasad began his political career in Bihar when he was elected as a first-time Member of Legislative Council (MLC) in 1994. He retained the position for 18 years, during which he led the Opposition in the state Assembly for five years.
Talking to news agency ANI, the newly appointed Governor of Meghalaya said, “I will work in harmony with the political parties there, abide by constitution&perform my duty.”
Prasad during his political career was also the leader of the Bihar Legislative Council during the previous NDA government in the state.
