Saudi men are known to be very protective of their wives, but this man has defined a whole new level of it by shooting the doctor who assisted in his wife’s delivery, says a Gulf News report.

The man, who was arrested shortly after, reportedly shot the male obstetrician, Dr Muhannad Al Zabn, arguing that a female doctor should have been assisting instead of him.

The father went to meet the doctor on the pretext of thanking him for successfully delivering his baby, took him out for a stroll and then shot him with a gun he was carrying underneath his clothes.

The doctor was immediately taken to the Intensive Care Unit of the hospital and is now stable, Bassam Al Buraikan, the spokesperson for the hospital said.

An investigation was launched thereafter, and evidence was collected. The man in question is now said to be behind bars.
