Lenovo Vibe K5 Note, the successor to the K4 Note will launch in India today. Lenovo Vibe K5 Note features a metal unibody design, which fits with the industry offerings like LeEco Le 2, Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 and Meizu m3 Note. Lenovo has already confirmed that Vibe K5 Note will be Flipkart exclusive smartphone.

Lenovo Vibe K5 Note doesn’t feature any futuristic design, but rather its more rounded at the edges compared to Vibe K4 Note. After the success of Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 and LeEco Le 2 in India, Lenovo will try to gain some traction in the similar price range with its Vibe K5 Note.

Lenovo Vibe K5 is 8.5 mm thick and weighs 165 grams. The smartphone features a 5.5-inch full HD display, likely protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. The smartphone is powered by a MediaTek Helio P10 processor coupled with Mali-T860MP2 GPU. The smartphone was announced in two variants in China – one with 2GB RAM, 16GB storage and other one with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage. Lenovo Vibe K5 Note supports expandable storage up to 256GB. However in India, Lenovo will launch a 4GB RAM version, based on their tweets.

Lenovo Vibe K5 Note runs Android 5.1 Lollipop with company’s own Vibe UI on top. Lenovo is tweeting that the device will also offer secure zone option which will allow users to keep two Facebook, WhatsApp accounts on their device.

On the camera front, Lenovo Vibe K5 Note sports a 13MP rear camera with f/2.2 aperture and phase detection autofocus. The rear camera module is same as the one found on Lenovo K4 Note. The smartphone also sports an 8MP selfie camera.

Lenovo K5 Note is backed by a huge 3,500mAh battery and features a rear fingerprint scanner.

We’ll have to wait and see how the Lenovo Vibe K5 Note is priced in India and whether the company will stick with a flash sale model for this smartphone. Also the Lenovo K4 Note had support for a ANT VR headset, and TheatreMax technology. It’s not clear if the new Vibe K5 Note will also be bundled with this VR headset.
