Earlier in the day, Mikhail said, “She (Indrani) could do anything, go to any extent for fame and money.” He claimed that Indrani had offered him a “good job” in Kolkata in 2013. “The last time she came here in September 2013, when my grandmother was ill… she said she would find me a job in Kolkata where I could earn Rs 50,000 per month,” he said.

“But my sixth sense told me not to take that offer, and I declined. And when I objected to her taking my grandparents to Mumbai, because she wanted to put them in an old-age home, she clearly told me she would stop sending money to them. ‘How you survive is your business’, she told me before leaving Guwahati,” said Mikhail.

Mikhail also shared with the police his email correspondence with Indrani and his sister Sheena. “I don’t mind going to Mumbai to cooperate in the investigation. But they must ensure my security… and arrange two nurses to look after my ailing grandparents,” he said.

Mikhail alleged that those who had killed his sister could make a similar attempt on him also. “Who knows what more plans they have? They are very influential and powerful people,” he said.
