AIB knockout: Twitterati divided on Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor’s ‘roast’-ing
The actors along with Karan Johar participated in the coolest, filthiest and downright rudest 'roast'.

Bollywood’s hunky pair – Arjun Kapoor and Ranveer Singh along with filmmaker Karan Johar recently created a storm when they participated in the coolest, filthiest and downright rudest AIB ‘roast‘ of the ‘Gunday’ actors in front of a live audience.
Though the gutsy video went viral within a few hours, not everybody found the AIB Knockout video funny.
The Maharashtra Government has ordered an inquiry into the show even as police launched a probe following a complaint against filmmaker Karan Johar, actor Arjun Kapoor and Ranveer Singh, among others, for allegedly using “filthy and abusive language” during the event.
The Twitterati have also come forward to share their thoughts on the matter and there clearly seems to be a divide. The topic has been trending on Twitter by the keywords and hashtag: #AIBRoast, AIB National Shame and We stand By AIB Knockout and the more extreme one – AIB National Shame. While we’re a country that could do with a few laughs, unfortunately not everybody agrees.
An hour of abuse amongst themselves generated 40L for charity! How much is there if we collected Rs 1 for every road rage abuse #AIBRoast

Fine for AIB to crack rude jokes. Fine for Maharashtra govt to probe on a complaint. Want liberal society? Push for liberal laws. #AIBRoast — Abhijit Majumder (@abhijitmajumder) February 2, 2015
But softening its stand on the AIB Knockout issue, Maharashtra Cultural Affairs Minister Vinod Tawde tweeted that though they will be investigating the videos but no moral policing will be done in this matter.
On #AIBRoast, will only enquire if the AIB had taken appropriate certificate. No moral policing if they r allowed by law, I can’t stop them.

If they are going to probe AIB roast for abusive language, they will also need to probe every college hostel in this country.
