The Delhi government has rejected the applications for granting licences to app-based cab services Uber, Ola Cabs and TaxiforSure to operate in the national capital.

The government in its communication to Uber stated that its application for licence under the modified Radio Taxi scheme 2006, submitted on January 22, 2015, said, “As your company has failed to submit a sworn affidavit declaring therein that the company is complying with the ban imposed on it in letter and spirit in pursuance of the letter dated March 24,2015, the application for the licence has been rejected.” The same letter has been to Ola Cabs and TaxiforSure cabs.

A day ago, Transport Minister Gopal Rai had said he has again decided to write to the Centre to block the apps of these taxi services as they are not complying with the ban imposed by the state government.
