Whats it about? Castle comes as a nice break after viewing five gruesome seasons of Dexter. The show revolves around mystery novelist Richard Castle and his muse,detective Kate Beckett. Called to help the NYPD solve a copy-cat murder based on one of his novels,Castle decides to base his next character,Nikki Heat,on her. Beckett initially disapproves but ends up having the useful Castle around to solve crimes. The second season ended with both showing signs of falling for each other,but not expressing it. The third season starts off with Castle coincidentally being dragged into a crime investigation and,in turn,back with Beckett.

Whos in it? Nathan Fillion as Castle and Stana Katic as Detective Beckett make a perfect team. The supporting cast remain intact with Jon Huertas as Detective Javier Esposito,Seamus Dever as Detective Kevin Ryan and Tamala Jones as

Whats hot? The growing chemistry between Castle and Beckett spices up the storyline. The previous season had ended with both making separate plans for summer. So its nice to see them back together. By making Castle a murder suspect in the opening episode of the new season,the series ensured the attention of Castle lovers. Fillion is still very charming and Katic looks more attractive and chic. She has also mellowed down a lot,making us hopeful that the romance between them will grow.

Whats not? A show like Castle promises something slick and racy in the already saturated crime shows market. However,the current season fails to live up to this promise. The tales of murder arent very complicated. In any case,with so much focus on the personal lives of the lead characters,the nail-biting moments are few and far between.

Should you be watching it? It is a must watch for those who followed the first two seasons. The others can give it a try.
