In a communication to the members of Air India’s loyalty programme Maharaja Club, Wilson said that Air India is ensuring that all its actions are aligned with the “highest standards of safety and care”.

Without the proper context, necessary elaboration, and disclosure of related information, it has lent itself to a great deal of ambiguity by the way details have been worded.
The announcement comes a few days after the preliminary report into the AI 171 crash came out. The accident claimed 260 lives—241 of the 242 people on board and 19 on ground.
The UK aviation regulator also said that it has no technical concern about Boeing aircraft and has not asked British operators of Boeing planes for any action following the preliminary report into the June 12 crash of an Air India Boeing 787-8 aircraft in Ahmedabad
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), back in 2018, had flagged the potential disengagement of the fuel control switch locking feature on certain models of Boeing aircraft, including 787s and 737s.
Other airlines and countries could also order similar checks. A report by news agency Reuters said that South Korea’s transport ministry is also preparing to order all airlines in the country that operate Boeing jets to examine fuel switches.
The report just says the engine fuel control switches that allow and cut fuel flow to the plane’s engines transitioned from RUN to CUTOFF. It does not state these were moved by either of the pilots.
Some experts have even said that the preliminary report has raised more questions than it answers.
The preliminary probe report, which was released early Saturday, has led to speculation in certain quarters about pilot action, inadvertent or even deliberate, being the likely cause of the crash.
It is worth noting that the preliminary report is only an account of the initial findings of the investigation, and is subject to change on the basis of the progress of the probe over the coming months.
