Plans to widen the existing drainage system in Mumbai

The HC through August 12 verdict restored the arbitral tribunal award related to the project of water supply to expanding areas of Navi Mumbai and for drinking and Industrial purposes.  The copy of the order was made available on Wednesday.

The DRI’s Mumbai zonal unit also summoned one Azharuddin Idrisi on Saturday and during interrogation, he revealed that one Ashraf Rain offered him monetary benefit for transporting of raw material from Bhiwandi and Thane (Mumbai Metropolitan Region) to Bhopal. He was asked to collect the raw material at Anjur Phata, Bhiwandi, and load on to a mini truck to transport them to Bhopal.

According to the police, the woman identified as Rubina Shaikh, 20, was staying at Vashi in Navi Mumbai along with her mother, sister and brother, who is a minor.

The ED arrested the four on Wednesday in connection with its probe into the illegal construction of 41 residential and commercial buildings in the Vasai-Virar region, with connivance between VVCMC officials and builders.

A senior IPS officer confirmed that an FIR has been registered on Wednesday night against the Kundra couple.  "As Shilpa Shetty Kundra and her husband Raj Kundra have been named in the FIR, it is a legal mandate that their statement should be recorded in the matter".
