This year, the pass percentage has dropped by nearly two per cent. In 2020, the pass percent was 80.59 while in 2019, the pass percentage was at 80.73 per cent. A total of 16,54,171 students appeared for the exam of which 8,29,278 were girls while 8,24,893 were boys.

A candidate need to secure 30 per cent of the total marks in the theory portion of each subject and 40 per cent of the total marks in the practical of each subject to pass the matric exam.

To achieve the first division, a student has to score 300 marks while for the second division, it is 225.

In case a student fails in one subject only by not more than 8 per cent marks or in two subjects by not more than 4 per cent marks in each, he/she will be given the marks he/she is short of.

Last year, a total of 13.20 lakh students had passed the exam, the pass percentage counted as 80.59 per cent.

A total of 78.04 per cent students cleared the intermediate exam successfully, the result of which was released on March 26. The girls at 80.57 per cent pass percentage fared better in the overall pass percentage than boys whose pass percentage is 75.71 per cent.
