Madhya Pradesh Elections Constituencies List

The single-phase elections to the Madhya Pradesh Assembly are scheduled on November 17. A total of 230 seats, going to the polls, include 35 Scheduled Caste and 47 Scheduled Tribe candidates. Around 5.6 crore voters will be eligible to elect candidates of the state Assembly, term of which expires on January 6, 2024. The results will be declared on December 3, 2023. Madhya Pradesh is expected to see a face off between the Congress and the BJP in the polls even though AAP is set to emerge as a new player. In the 2018 elections, the Congress clinched 114 out of 230 seats -- five more than the BJP's score of 109. In spite of falling short of securing a simple majority, Congress formed the government with the help of four independents. However, this victory was proven to be short-lived after 22 Congress MLAs, including Jyotiraditya Scindia, jumped ship to BJP in 2020. Shivraj Singh Chouhan then returned as the CM on March 23, 2020.
