Delhi Assembly Elections 2025: As of January 16, a total of 500 candidates have filed their nomination papers for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections, bringing the total number of candidates to 841 for the 70 assembly seats, according to the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Delhi.
Notable among those who filed their papers were senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders and former ministers. Manish Sisodia filed his nomination from the Jangpura constituency, Gopal Rai from Babarpur, and Saurabh Bharadwaj from Greater Kailash.
Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit also entered the fray by filing his nomination from the New Delhi constituency, where he will challenge AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal.
Atishi, who filed her nomination for the Kalkaji Assembly seat on Tuesday, January 14, also submitted her affidavit declaring her assets. She declared assets worth Rs 76.93 lakh, reflecting a Rs 17 lakh increase from her 2020 affidavit, where her assets were valued at Rs 59.79 lakh.
Alka Lamba, who also filed her nomination for the Kalkaji seat on January 14, declared her net worth as Rs 3.41 crore, which includes Rs 61.12 lakh in movable assets and Rs 2.80 crore in immovable assets. In the 2020 Assembly elections, which she contested from Chandni Chowk, her net worth was Rs 3.20 crore, indicating an increase of Rs 20.12 lakh for the 2025 election.
AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal, who is set to contest the Delhi Assembly Elections 2025 from New Delhi, filed his nomination on Wednesday, January 15. In his affidavit, Kejriwal declared his net worth as Rs 1.73 crore, while his wife, Sunita Kejriwal, declared a net worth of Rs 2.5 crore. Compared to the 2020 election, Kejriwal’s net worth has decreased by Rs 14 lakh from Rs 1.87 crore, while his wife’s net worth increased by Rs 93 lakh from Rs 1.57 crore in 2020.
In the 2025 affidavit, Kejriwal’s movable and immovable assets were valued at Rs 3.46 lakh and Rs 1.7 crore, respectively. His wife’s assets were valued at Rs 1 crore in movable assets and Rs 1.5 crore in immovable assets.
Parvesh Verma, the BJP’s candidate for the New Delhi seat in the Delhi Assembly Elections 2025, submitted his affidavit on January 15. His net worth was revealed to be Rs 90.08 crore, a massive leap from his 2019 Lok Sabha affidavit, where his net worth was valued at Rs 9.65 crore, marking an increase of Rs 80.43 crore.
Verma’s wife’s net worth, on the other hand, is Rs 24.44 crore in 2025, showing an increase of Rs 19.3 crore from her 2019 net worth of Rs 5.14 crore. Notably, Verma also has liabilities amounting to Rs 62.82 crore in 2025.
AAP leader Satyendar Jain, who is contesting from the Shakur Basti seat for the fourth time, declared his net worth as Rs 4.42 crore, a slight increase of Rs 4 lakh from his 2020 affidavit, which listed his net worth as Rs 4.38 crore. Jain’s movable assets have increased by Rs 4 lakh, now valued at Rs 30.67 lakh in 2025, while his immovable assets remain constant at Rs 4.12 crore.
Jain’s wife, Poonam Jain, declared her net worth as Rs 3.24 crore in 2025, an increase of Rs 25 lakh from her 2020 net worth of Rs 2.99 crore.
BJP candidate Ramesh Bidhuri, who is contesting from the Kalkaji constituency, declared his net worth as Rs 14.87 crore in his affidavit submitted on January 15. His assets include Rs 2.57 crore in movable assets and Rs 12.30 crore in immovable assets. His wife’s net worth is Rs 5.06 crore.
In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Bidhuri’s affidavit showed a net worth of Rs 13.14 crore, marking an increase of Rs 1.73 crore.
