LS polls: Congress releases 11th list of 17 candidates, fields Y S Sharmila from Andhra’s Kadapa seat

The Congress party has released 11th list of 17 candidates for Lok Sabha election 2024 on Tuesday. The list includes names of candidates fielded from Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Odisha and West Bengal.

According to the list, the party has fielded Y S Sharmila Reddy from Kadapa seat, which is a stronghold of the Reddy family and is currently represented by Sharmila’s cousin Avinash Reddy from YSR Congress Party.

Sharmila, the sister of Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, joined the grand old party in January this year and was appointed the new president of the party’s Andhra Pradesh unit soon after.

The party has also named Dr Munish Tamang as its candidate from West Bengal’s Darjeeling.
