France’s Macron to submit ‘photographic, scientific evidence’ that wife Brigitte is a woman

“I don’t want to suggest that it somehow has thrown him off his game. But just like anybody who is juggling a career and a family life as well, when your family is under attack, it wears on you. And he’s not immune from that because he’s the president of a country,” Clare told BBC.

What will the Macrons present as evidence?

The lawyer for France’s First Family refused to divulge exact details but offered some hints. There would be “expert testimony that will come out that will be scientific in nature,” he said. The Macrons were also ready to show “both generically and specifically” that the allegations are false. He also said that pictures of Brigitte during her pregnancy and raising the child existed and will be presented in court.

What did Candace Owens say?

Owens, a prominent and divisive right-wing social media personality with millions of online followers, has claimed that Brigitte is a man. In March 2024, she promised to stake her “entire professional reputation” on the allegation.

The lawsuit filed by the Macrons goes into further detail. “These outlandish, defamatory, and far-fetched fictions included that Mrs Macron was born a man, stole another person’s identity, and transitioned to become Brigitte; Mrs Macron and President Macron are blood relatives committing incest; President Macron was chosen to be the President of France as part of the CIA-operated MKUltra program or a similar mind-control program; and Mrs Macron and President Macron are committing forgery, fraud, and abuses of power to conceal these secrets,” the lawsuit says, The Guardian reported.

What have the Macrons said?

The Macrons had filed a suit in the US’ Delaware on July 23, and said they had taken this unprecedented action after offering several opportunities to Owens to retract her claims but that she had chosen to ignore it.

“Because Ms Owens systematically reaffirmed these falsehoods in response to each of our attorneys’ repeated requests for a retraction, we ultimately concluded that referring the matter to a court of law was the only remaining avenue,” the couple said in a statement quoted by The Guardian. They also pointed to global humiliation and “relentless bullying, and put on record their “earnest hope that this lawsuit will set the record straight and end this campaign of defamation once and for all.”
