Kaur stated that despite being aware of the situation, the family tried to counsel their daughter and encouraged her to save her marriage. “On Tuesday, we received the shocking information that our daughter had hanged herself,” she said.

Woman alone at home at the time of incident

As per information, Daljeet Singh had taken his wife to a doctor in the morning for medication. In the afternoon, he returned home briefly while other family members had gone to their daughter’s house. He then left again, claiming he was going to perform sewa at a langar, leaving Gursharan Kaur alone at home.

During this time, the woman allegedly hanged herself from a ceiling fan inside the house. In the evening, when her husband returned, he found her body hanging in a room and informed the police control room.

The police reached the spot, took the body into custody, and sent it to the Civil Hospital mortuary for a post-mortem examination. Further investigation in the matter is underway.
