Brazil’s First Lady, Janja Lula da Silva, insulted billionaire Elon Musk at a G20 social event on Saturday in Rio de Janeiro while speaking about the need to regulate social media to rein in misinformation.
While the First Lady Janja was speaking at the G20 event, a ship’s horn sounded in the background and she joked, “I think it’s Elon Musk,” before adding, “I’m not afraid of you, fuck you, Elon Musk.”

The video of the speech has gone viral on social media. The world’s richest person, Elon Musk, reacted to the video by posting a laughing out loud emoji on X. Musk further added in another post saying, “They are going to lose the next election,” referring to President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.
The first lady spoke ahead of the G20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro which will witness the largest nations scheduled for Monday and Tuesday.

According to Bloomberg, a spokesperson of President Lula declined to comment on the matter however Lula said that “we don’t have to offend or curse anyone”. Brazil’s next general election is set to take place in 2026.
Elon Musk owned microblogging platform X has faced scrutiny in Brazil this year when it was banned by the country’s Supreme Court in September over not following legal mandates and naming a legal representative in Brazil.
But Supreme Court Judge Alexandre de Moraes later revoked the decision and the ban on X was lifted. “I authorize the immediate return of the activities” of the social platform, Judge Alexandre had ruled in October.
